Residential Interior Design | Kitchen Renovation + Space Reconfiguration

Designer: Hema Persad, Sagrada Studio
As seen on Property Brothers: Forever Home, Season 8

Sagrada Studio led the renovation and reconfiguration of this Pasadena midcentury residence, updating key living areas while preserving the home’s original architectural character.

The project focused on modernizing the layout for everyday family living while maintaining the integrity of the home’s midcentury design language. The original brick fireplace was retained as a central feature, refreshed with a new mantel and finish to anchor the main living space.

A primary intervention included removing a dividing wall to unify the kitchen and dining areas, introducing a large peninsula for added prep space and improved circulation. The kitchen features two-tone walnut and navy cabinetry, paired with streamlined hardware for a balance of warmth and refinement. The adjacent dining area incorporates a custom drinks station and open sightlines to the living room.

The formal living room was reimagined as a flexible work-play space, with a full wall of custom built-ins and integrated desks overlooking a dedicated children’s area.

The result is a functional, family-focused home that respects its midcentury roots while supporting a more open, contemporary way of living.
