Residential Interior Design | Full Renovation + Addition

Sagrada Studio led the full interior design of this Rancho Palos Verdes residence, transforming an approximately 1,800-square-foot 1990s home through a comprehensive renovation and 500-square-foot addition. The expanded floor plan widened the kitchen and living areas and created an entirely new primary suite for the young family.

The project included the design of the interior architecture, kitchen, bathrooms, custom cabinetry, lighting, finishes, furnishings, wallcoverings, and soft goods throughout the home. The design offers a more romantic interpretation of coastal living in Southern California. Rather than relying on a conventional blue-and-white beach palette, Sagrada Studio drew from English coastal interiors, layering burgundy, red, and green with warm woods, natural textures, and relaxed furnishings. Grasscloth wallcoverings by Wallshoppe bring subtle coastal texture to the pantry and dining room without making the home feel overtly themed.

At the center of the residence is a fully custom kitchen featuring Taj Mahal quartzite countertops, an oversized island, and a custom range alcove and hood. The adjoining dining room displays a watercolor painted by the homeowner, adding a personal reference to the couple’s shared family histories in the food business.

The result is a warm, romantic family home that feels connected to its beachside setting while offering a distinctive alternative to traditional California coastal design.
