Residential Interior Design | Full Home Renovation + Garage Conversion + Landscape Design
Designer: Hema Persad, Sagrada Studio
Featured in Rue Magazine, Spring 2023
Sagrada Studio led the full renovation and interior design of this Los Angeles residence, including a garage-to-creative-studio conversion and complete exterior and landscape redesign.
The home was reimagined as a well-traveled, globally influenced environment, defined by custom tilework, layered materials, and strong architectural moments. Zellige tile is used throughout, paired with newly introduced archways that improve flow across the kitchen, living, and dining areas. The kitchen features brass lighting, bespoke porcelain surfaces, reclaimed wood shelving, and limewash finishes.
The dining room is finished in a saturated black palette, creating a dramatic contrast to the terracotta limewash primary bedroom. In the primary bathroom, black tile and a skylight over the shower create a sculptural, light-filled focal point.
Furnishings combine vintage and contemporary pieces to reinforce a collected, international sensibility. The garage was converted into a flexible creative studio, while the exterior and landscape were renovated to unify the overall design language of the property.
The result is a highly personalized home that balances architectural clarity with a layered, globally inspired aesthetic. This project served as the personal residence of Sagrada Studio founder Hema Persad, developed as a fully realized expression of the studio’s design approach.
