Sagrada Studio led the full kitchen and bath renovation and first-floor interior decoration of this midcentury residence in La Crescenta, California, updating a previously remodeled 1990s-era interior to better reflect the home’s original architectural character and the lifestyle of a young family.

The design rebalances the home’s midcentury bones with a warmer, more intentional material and spatial approach, tailored to a family with a young daughter and a relaxed, minimalist sensibility.

Working within the existing footprint, the first-floor bathroom was reconfigured to create a larger walk-in shower as a focal point, defined by clean lines and bold tilework. The kitchen was redesigned with custom two-tone cabinetry in white and stained walnut, a bespoke hood and pantry, and Taj Mahal quartzite surfaces used across countertops and backsplash to introduce a subtle, earthy texture.

In the living and dining areas, the design integrates the clients’ collection of vintage art and furnishings with new pieces, layered against a refined, grounded color palette to create a cohesive yet eclectic interior language.

The result is a warm, livable family home that restores architectural integrity while reflecting the clients’ personal history, cultural influences, and contemporary lifestyle.
